Bio

Dr. Damseh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at UAE University and the founding director of the Medical Image Computing Lab (MEDIC). Prior to joining UAEU, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School, where he led machine learning projects at the Computational Clinical Neuroimaging Group in the MGH Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging. He earned his Ph.D. from Polytechnique Montréal, Canada’s leading engineering research institution. His research focuses on applying AI and machine learning to characterize, model, and interpret biomedical data. He has extensive expertise in computer-aided diagnostic and prognostic systems, cerebrovascular network modeling, brain connectivity analysis, computational pathology, and dental AI. He has authored over 25 articles in top-ranked journals including IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging, IEEE JBHI, Scientific Reports, and Neuroinformatics, and has developed several open-source bioimaging tools — VascGraph, VirtualMRI, and AngioPulse — used by leading laboratories worldwide.
